2011 is the year.

This is the year, I know it, I feel it, I promised myself, I'm committed, I know I can do it, I'm positive.  This is the year to sew and bead and use up some of the tons of fabric and notions, beads, patterns, books and ideas, UFO's and links to hundreds of great projects that I have collected over the years.  Everything I need for a year of beautiful creations.

First project will be fabric bags for our post-Christmas dinner party in January.  I've already started making the Kumihimo braided handles.  I used lots of sparkley embroidery floss and some eyelash yarn.  Four down  four to go.  Today I start the party favor gift bags.  I only need 8, so this should be a quick sewing project.

Here's a few pictures of some of my 2010 FINISHED projects.

A quilted wall hanging for my friend who is retiring on December 30.   Each square represents my wishes for her new adventure.  Left to right, top to bottom, Friend square, 4 leaf clover for luck, blue bird of happiness, symbol for good fortune, horse shoe for more luck, dancing for joy (from a paper pieced pattern found on http://piecebynumber.com/index.htm) my interpretation of a Pennsylvania Dutch symbol for a year of love, kindness and smooth sailing, a prayer heart (from an idea found on http://with-heart-and-hands.blogspot.com/) holding a Irish retirement prayer.  Also included 3 coins tied with a red ribbon and a pink pig also for good luck.
A memory quilted wall hanging for a friend's 55 birthday.  Signed by her guests.
Another quilted wall hanging for a friend's 50 birthday.
Tote bag with paper pieced martini glasses.
A rooster wall hanging.
